What We’re All About

Jumpyard Playschool is a Student-centered education; its focus of instruction is from the teacher to the student. Student-centered learning aims to develop learner autonomy and independence by putting responsibility for the learning path in the hands of students.Student-centered instruction focuses on skills and practices that enable lifelong learning and independent problem-solving. Early Reading, Early Math, Early Writing, Listening Skills, Attention Span, Problem Solving Skills, Communication Skills, Creativity, Fine Motor Skills and Social Skills. These are just few of the skills and qualities that children will develop at Jumpyard Playschool Childcare Centre.JUMPYARD Playschool provides STEAM Learning Opportunities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). This is a space (it’s more than a space--It's a mindset) for students to act on their own curiosities, learn independently and in small groups, and feel a sense of ownership, It’s a welcoming space accessible to learners where students come to experiment, invent, try, fail, and try again. Thank you Jumpyard Playschool for taking good care and guiding our son Earl during his stay with you. I still fondly remember that due to Covid 19 Pandemic, we were looking for a good school nearby where we can enroll our youngest son, Earl. Your two year old is bursting with curiosity. He busily explores his world and is learning to communicate his thoughts and feelings. As he begins to exert his independence, he is also gaining a better understanding of what it means to play with others. Our Toddler Hop Program will keep his small hands busy and his mind engaged through countless activities focusing on both educational fundamentals and social skill development including:

Why, What and How:

A child’s blossoming language skills prompt many “why,” “what,” and “how” questions. We will insure that your child’s play and daily activities are filled with new discoveries and experiences that encourage him to explore his environment, increase his curiosity and enhance his knowledge of the world around him. Our skilled teachers will be there to guide, encourage and support him, filling him with confidence, self-esteem and a love of learning.

Whole Child Education:

Our curriculum consists of 10 monthly units. Through small- and large-group instruction and a thoughtfully developed classroom environment, your child will benefit from activities related to cognitive, language, social and physical development. Your child’s classroom is designed with a children in mind—shelves are low and open, supplies and toys are easy to reach, toy and material boxes and tubs are colorfully labeled with both a photograph and written word, and tables are low so that your child is able to help himself to materials and put them back when they are done.

Love of Literacy:

Children who learn to love books from an early age are more likely to become successful learners and lifelong readers. That knowledge guides us to fill our classrooms with a vast assortment of good books so your child can access and enjoy them throughout the day. Because our teachers make reading together a top priority, your youngster will benefit from many rich and varied conversations surrounding these stories and books. Pre-literacy skills are also embedded in many of the activities we offer your child, laying the groundwork for future reading and writing success.

Preparing for Potty Training:

Although children potty-train at their own pace, you and your child’s teacher will work together to provide the best environment for successfully reaching this milestone.

Growing Up Fit:

The world of your busy two year old is a physical one. Movement is a major way that he learns and interacts with that world. We want all children to appreciate the fun that comes with fitness while we educate their minds to make healthy choices. By starting exercise and health education at a young age we are instilling a lifelong commitment to choosing to live a healthy lifestyle.

We are honored to partner with you to provide the first introduction to your child’s lifetime of learning.

Building a Strong Foundation:

Your preschooler’s cognitive skills will be enriched through a variety of challenging math, science, social studies and literacy activities that will take place within our program’s predictable yet flexible daily schedule. He will fine tune his social skills through dramatic play, group times and independent interactions with other children. His proficiency in language arts will be increased through reading and being read to, storytelling, puppet play and ample opportunities for fine motor development.

Making Decisions, Fostering Confidence :

Your child is naturally curious about the world around him and ready to learn all that he can about it. Our program has been designed to specifically meet the diverse interests and needs of preschool children. Your child can choose to play and work in seven different learning centers, each one equipped with developmentally appropriate materials designed to entice and challenge him. He’ll be able to explore numbers, colors and shapes through a myriad of projects and activities. He’ll solve problems and engage in many planned and spontaneous learning experiences. With our teachers there to guide and support him, he’ll make decisions about what materials to use and when to use them, helping to dramatically strengthen his decision-making skill and greatly increase his self-confidence.

Speaking and Listening:

Throughout your youngster’s preschool experience, we will provide a variety of opportunities and activities designed to increase his vocabulary and improve his listening skills. His teachers will engage him in rich and interesting conversations all through the day and ask thoughtful questions that will stimulate his thinking. Ample opportunities for dramatic play experiences will help him further develop his speaking and listening skills which are the very foundations for learning to read and write.

Love of Literacy:

Our literacy enriched environments will provide your preschooler with many valuable language and print experiences, helping him to develop all of the skills he will need for a life-long love of reading and writing. Stories and books will also be introduced as part of the art, math, cooking, science and gross motor skills components of your child’s curriculum. Our unique health and fitness program was created with today’s hectic and hurried lifestyle in mind. In this stimulating and fun educational daily program, your child will not only learn the importance of keeping physically active and but also about good nutrition and making healthy food choices. In addition to a myriad of daily fun and challenging physical activities and games, your child will be able to try healthy, new recipes that he’s helped to prepare as a part of classroom cooking projects.

4 YEARS OLD- PRE K GALLOP

Readiness

Your child is approaching an exciting milestone and the adventure of a lifetime! Our fun and challenging Pre-Kindergarten program is designed specifically to promote his readiness for learning, assurance in social situations and a mastery of many fine and gross motor skills; all of which will benefit him when he moves into the school arena. Our skilled and nurturing teachers will offer a variety of both independent and cooperative learning opportunities as well as provide for generous outdoor playtime to ensure his future academic success.

Mastering Skills:

Your Pre-Kinder cognitive skills will be enriched through a variety of challenging math, science, social studies and literacy activities that will take place within our program’s predictable yet flexible daily schedule. Because school readiness means more than a basic knowledge of language, letters and numbers, your child will participate in activities and lessons that will enrich all developmental areas: physical, cognitive, social and emotional competence.

Enthusiastic and Confident Learner:

INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAM OR INTERVENTION

Mainstreaming and Inclusions for Exceptional Gifted Learners/ Children with Special Needs

JUMPYARD PLAYSCHOOL CHILDCARE CENTRE offers Early Childhood Instructional Intervention Program

It is a specific program or set of steps to help a child improve in an area of need. Because we believe that all children CAN.

This will provides children with special needs an opportunity to succeed in a preschool classroom through learning experiences integrated in RTI and MTSS.

**Response to intervention (RTI) is a framework that our school use to help students who are struggling with academics.

**A multi-tier system of supports (MTSS) is more comprehensive.It goes beyond just academics. It also covers social and emotional supports. That means it can include behavior intervention plans.

("IEP" means Individualized Education Program) designed specifically for child's unique requirements/needs.
IEP students are expected to learn the same material as the rest of the class but with modifications in the course and adjustments in the assessment. The students are may/or may not necessarily expected to show improvement in their social skills and improvement in their academic performance.

Mainstreaming requires a child to deal and adjust in the class on his own; inclusion classrooms have a team of specialists supporting the child. (Sessions in OT/PT/ Speech THERAPIST is recommended for IEP Students)
